In the Netherlands, King’s Day is the biggest celebration of the year! People wear orange, the whole country becomes a yard sale, and people celebrate with music, performances and street parties.
At De Esdoorn, we celebrate each year by participating in the King’s Games, which take place annually in the Netherlands in honour of King Willem-Alexander’s birthday. We play shuffleboard (sjoelen), egg-walking, sack races, koekhappen, donkey-prick and many more classic Dutch games.
